Aims
The aim of the project is to increase the number of private sector organisations committed to supporting the ideals of the West Dunbartonshire Community Planning Partnership (CPP).
Today, Scottish Business in the Community, West Dunbartonshire (SBCWD) continues with its aim of assisting and supporting CPP funded community and voluntary projects to develop and grow, thereby sustaining existing and creating further employment in deprived areas of West Dunbartonshire. By identifying specific needs SBCWD can source the required expertise from the private and public sectors necessary to expand and enhance a particular project’s skill base.

Testimonials
Angus MacDougall, SBC’s Network Manager, comments:
“With the enthusiastic commitment of Blyth Deans, Gus Pender and chairman Michael Carr, SBC West Dunbartonshire continues to make excellent progress and to deliver real value. Our overall aim at Scottish Business in the Community is to promote responsible business practice, and SBC West Dunbartonshire shows at a practical level what can be done when businesses work effectively together for the benefit of local communities.
I also value at a personal level the support that the management team provides within the wider SBC network and I look forward to continuing our close relationship as we expand and develop the network further”.
Eleanor Mitchell, Project Co-ordinator, Knowetop Farm
“Over the last year Gus Pender has given tremendous support to Knowetop Community Farm Project at Castlehill in Dumbarton. Whatever we need Gus usually has a source for it through his connections with the private and public sectors. He has encouraged many businesses to use the farm for team building events, which in turn has helped get the farm, flower garden and vegetable garden back into shape for the invasion of summer visitors”.
