Testimonials
IRENE MURRAY
Irene was referred to JOBlink in early 2005. Irene, a lone parent who resides within a Social Inclusion Partnership (SIP) area, had been unemployed for almost a year.
Irene was assessed by a member of the JOBlink Team, and together they discussed various options including what type of training course would be most beneficial to help her back into work. Irene was keen to pursue a course that would help her move into the type of employment that would build upon her previous administration experience. Using local labour market knowledge, JOBlink advised Irene that a basic I.T. course would be the most suitable option.
Irene was referred to The Tell Organisation in Dumbarton where she embarked upon the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) course. Irene trained with Tell and continued to receive ongoing support from JOBlink for the duration of her training. Upon completion of ECDL Irene was offered an administration work placement with the Vale of Leven Hospital in Alexandria.
During Irene’s time on work placement she applied for a number of suitable vacancies identified by JOBlink, one of which was a temporary job with Walker and McLeod as an Administrator to cover maternity leave. Irene was offered the job and started working for the company on 29th March 2005. Irene was subsequently offered full time permanent work with the company. Furthermore her new employer was so impressed with her work that they arranged to put her through other job related training courses to enhance her existing skills.
“I had been out of work for almost 1 year and was struggling to find suitable employment when I was referred to JOBlink. JOBlink offered me comprehensive advice and guidance, highlighting the various options available to me under TFW. I was subsequently referred to the Tell Organisation for the ECDL course and throughout my training course JOBlink continued to support me and help me to look for work. JOBlink also put me in touch with other agencies and partners of who helped me with my CV, childcare, lying time and clothes for work. When I became employed JOBlink also provided employment aftercare support. This made it so much easier to make the leap from benefits to work”
