Tourism
Tourism is one of Scotland’s most important industries, employing 9% of the workforce and generating £4.4bn while accounting for 200,000 jobs. There is real potential for this to grow in coming years if Scotland can capitalise on its tourism assets and respond to market trends. This potential is reflected in the Scottish Executive’s ambition to increase visitor spend in Scotland by 50% by 2015, and we are committed to supporting the industry to achieve this challenging target.
